OUR LATEST GIVE AWAY! Click here to enter...

September 30th, 2009

Yup.  That's right.  Another give away.  Although this time I may have a little trouble picking winners and sending these lovelies off since I kind of want them for myself...

I love stuff like this.  A friend of ours has a little business called Golden Path Alchemy and they make the most luscious, all natural skin and body products imaginable.  They mix up small batches of fresh product from real ingredients that they grow themselves or buy locally.  No chemicals, no synthetic materials.  A beautiful blend of Eastern and Western medicinal and botanical that are amazing for you and your skin.

So now that I've got you salivating for your very own product, here's how to win:

Tell us the sweetest gift you ever got from a significant other - to enter add a comment on our FACEBOOK page AND/OR add a comment to this blog.  That's right, I said and/or - we'll pick a winner from each place SO, you've got two chances to win.  We'll pick a winner next week and let you know if you won.

Thanks to GOLDEN PATH ALCHEMY for the product hook up.  Definitely check out some of their wonderful products if you need a little pampering...

So?  What is it?  The sweetest gift you got from a lover, boyfriend, husband, wife etc.  As for me, one time my husband spelled out "I Love You" in brand new socks on our bed.  I had said something about really needing new socks, came home and there they were.  Completely goofy and totally sweet.  How about you?

When I was married to my first husband, he could never remember, after 8 years of marriage, whether my birthday was March or May. In 1986,he was determined to get me something in March and I refused to tell him my birthday wasn't until May. He finally found out from a friend of mine after he already got a cake for March and felt guilty. So for my actual birthday in May, I got a beautiful 14k Gold bracelet. I still have it even though we divorced and he passed away 6 years ago. Some things you just can't give away.

the best gift? well, my ex of three years gave me many good gifts. He once gave an Italian-themed gift before I left Italy. He also gave me an Ipod once. Too bad he couldn't change his annoying personality. ;)

The Ex never seemed to listen or care about what I liked or was in to at the time... butone day actually came home with a limited edition book by my favorite author, it was amazing (and the first and last time it ever happened LOL)

This stuff looks like a winner! I like the fluid navigation of the new site. However, somewhere along the way the photos of my ring where erased. Any idea how that happened? Drop me a line, will you?

I've been friends with the man who is now my husband for almost 20 years. We discovered our love for each other in September of 2006, and the best gift I ever received from him was the Christmas present he gave me that year. It was a book - an actual book, bound with a glossy cover, title page, illustrations and everything - about the first four months of our romantic relationship. In it he included a chapter by chapter description of how we reconnected and fell in love, adding text from our emailed love-letters and photos that we had sent each other by cell phone. He ran around to several different places to help him "publish" and bind it, and it looks like a book you could buy at the store. It is the most wonderful and amazing gift I've ever received, and I cry every time I read it. If our house burned to the ground and I could save only one possession, it would be that book.

that's a tough one, but I think my favorite present was actually something he gave me after we had started dating- a collection of cds he burned me with all of his favorite music which was accompanied by a beautiful handwritten letter. It was just so thoughtful...

It wasn't really a present, per say, but I realized my 6 month anniversary (half-iversary?) with my boyfriend was while I was away on vacation with my family. The vacation had been planned for a year and I couldn't get out of it. He couldn't come because he couldn't get off of work. I was sitting there, missing him, when his car pulled up to the house! He drove 2 hours after work to take me out to dinner and 2 hours home! He conspired with my sister to make sure it worked. It was so sweet.

The very best gift I ever received was not something I could touch, smell, taste or feel with my hands. This most precious gift will be in my mind's eyes forever. You see my father suffered from cancer for four years. I was in the finals of a lip sing contest with the prize being a trip to Jamaca. The winner was to be determined by the audience. I didn't have many people going because I was actually shy about what I was doing. Go figure. Anyway my dad had gotten a big load of chemo that day and was very sick. Unbeknown to me he had called my younger brother to pick him up at 10:00pm that evening as the contest didn't start until 11:00pm. He had rested all day knowing he would not miss this big event. I remember standing in the back of the Marriott Hotel's lounge. The place was packed. I turned knowing someone was behind me staring at me. I could feel it. I slowly turned and there was my dad in his wheelchair with my younger brother standing him. Both had smug smiles on their faces and I was shocked to say the least. My mouth hung open as silent tears cruised down my face spoiling all my make-up, but you know I didn't care. After the shock wore off I walked to my dad's chair and kneeled down next to him. I said, " dad there's no way I can win. All the other contestants have like over fifty people with them. I only have four!" My dad held my hand and squeezed it hard. He pulled my face close to his mouth and he said, "you'll win because your're the best. Just do your best and it will be good enough. You'll win this crowd over I just know it." Well I went on last and my dad was right. I won the crowd over and as I accepted my prize on stage I looked through the audience for my dad. I didn't see him. I went looking for him and my friend told me my brother took him home after I finished my performance, that he was just too tired to stay but told her to tell me he would see me when I got home. I didn't want to stay another minute and rushed out of the hotel and hurried to get home and prayed my dad was ok. I waalked in our front door and my dad was asleep in his chair. I silently walked up to him and I remember him opening his eyes and smiling at me. He whispered to me, You won, I know you did and I am so proud of you. My dad died a year later from the cancer. I am so blessed because what more could I ask for than the precious gift he gave me that night. The gift of unconditional love. This is with out a doubt the BEST GIFT I HAVE EVER RECEIVED.

The sweetest gift I ever got was from my current boyfriend (off and on for a few years.) It was my 21st birthday and I was 6 months pregnant. I was so upset because I couldn't go have official 21st bday drinks and just wanted to stay home. I didn't think anything could cheer me up. My boyfriend then called me to go get in the pool at his parents house and BBQ. I get over there and we're hanging out, I'm with my mad face acting super bratty. He calls me over to the den and there it was... He completely covered the room in pink princess decorations and covered the walls in pink 21st bday napkins. There were balloons, streamers, confetti, roses and tiaras. In the middle of the room, there was a little stand with an ice cream cake and below that were two pink boxes, one bigger than the other. He asked me to open the bigger one first and in there was a book with a picture of us in front. He had made a scrapbook of our time together up until that month. I was in tears, thinking it was the best gift I ever got. I couldn't believe he took time out to cut and paste and develop all of our pictures... Just when I thought it couldn't get better, it did. I then open the next box and inside was the little blue box (T&Co.!) Inside was an Elsa Peretti open heart necklace (it's now discontinued but the heart was open and at the end of the 2 top heart curves were little hearts instead of attaching to make the whole heart.) He explained that he could've bought me any necklace, but that one had a significant meaning. He said the 2 little hearts were signified us and the big heart those 2 little hearts were a part of signified the little love in my belly... We all made one heart. This was by far the best birthday I've EVER had, and those 2 gifts are still a huge part of my life. <3

because we married at 40, we kept our finances separate; mine included $13K of credit card debt which i was paying off because i've always been an independent woman. and he had inherited a buttload of $$ and rightly, we had a pre-nup. still, a year into our marriage, he walked in while i was paying my bills and said "i don't see why i should have all this money and not be able to help you out."

whereupon he sat down and wrote checks paying each and every one of my bills in full. i wept for a half hour because no one had ever done such a thing for me!

that was 11 years ago, long before FICO and credit scores and all of that. it was the best gift anyone has ever given me and every day is the gift that keeps on giving.

The best gift I received was Christmas Eve 1995. I was a senior in high school working at McDonalds. My family always threw a huge party Christmas Eve with friends, family, neighbors and even Santa stopping by throughout the evening. I looked forward to that party more than anything else at the holidays so I was very upset when I was scheduled to close the restaurant that evening. My high school sweetheart also worked there and when he realized how upset I was, he came in and worked off the clock (meaning without pay) so we could close early and I could get home in time to enjoy the party. He was a wonderful boyfriend, sweet and kind and I have only fond memories of him. We drifted apart after high school but I'll never forget that gift. More than a tangible item, he gave me the gift of time, both his own and time with all my loved ones.

The best gift I ever got was my children- nothing else will ever compare!

The sweetest gift i ever got was a pair of peacg-faced love birds. I know this isn't going to be a winning entry but it felt good thinking and sharing about those birds. I had them almost 20 years and they died within a week of each other.

I met my husband online. We carried on emails and phone calls for nearly three years before we actually met in person. Both of us had been burned, so we were cautious, but we love each other intensely! I've never known such comfort, emotional intimacy, security! He loves my daughter like his own, and she him. To me, that was the best gift he could ever give, was that of himself.
I told him he was King of his castle, and have been a happy, part time housewife to ensure that his castle is perfect.
The first Christmas we were married, we didn't have a lot in the way of extra finances, and told each other we wouldn't splurge, but he did. My gift was a small, white gold crown with tiny diamonds at the tips. He told me that every Queen deserved a crown, and since he was the King...that made me his Queen!

I never received anything sweet, I bought all my own jewelery.

This was a man I was involved with for a short while before he left town. After he did so, another man - not entirely welcome - came into my life and I had a son. I told the first man that if he had not gone away, none of this would have happened as I was feeling vulnerable. I did not mean to inflict guilt and was partly being tongue in cheek. Anyway, this is the gift: the first man began honoring my boy as thougn he was his own, sending him Christmas and birthday presents with regularity and phoning him. This was very special both to me and my son - who never met his real father.

It's sad but I have the worst luck with men I can't think of the any presents I've received from a boyfriend that I've actually liked lol. My last boyfriend would get me gifts that he liked and I didn't care for in the hopes I would give them to him. Let's just say that didn't last long.

The sweetest gift a guy's given me was a pair of boots. They were all I talked about - I'd mentioned them on our 2nd date - and my ex surprised me with them as an early Christmas gift. I was totally shocked and wore them constantly until they were worn out!

Right after I found out my kidneys are failing at the age of 20 and the doctors told me I only have a 21% chance of finding a donor and accepting the new kidneys i was devistated so for Christmas last year my husband(boyfriend at the time) bought me a digital camera. So when i opend the camera and turned it on he had already taken a picture of a beautiful diamond engagement which was my second gift, and he told me he got the camera so we can always remember our honey moon (my 3 gift). And we got married and took our honey moon in hawii, but the best gift he gave me was being there and supporting me no matter how much time we have left. A year later the doctors still haven't found a donor but my husband is still standing by my side every day and for that i am so grateful.

Well, considering the woman who posted directly above me is now labeled as a "SCAMMER" and I have been waiting for a week for her to respond to me about where the ipod is that I sent her $60 for, I can only assume that she is sitting with her fake husband with her fake disease listening to my ipod.

I got three wonderful gifts from two different men...the first was with my ex, my beautiful daughter who is about to turn 6. She is the only gift I ever wanted that he gave me. And the only thing about our marriage that I don't regret. The second gift was a very unexpected gift from my now hubby to be, the accidental gift of my beautiful 3 month old daughter. We were only together a little over a month when we found out she was on the way and it was the best gift I didn't know I wanted. My children are my life, I have made more scarifices than I care to count for them and will continue to make them for the rest of my life. The third, also from my hubby to be, was the gift of him loving my soon to be 6 year old as his own. She now has a wonderful father who cares about her. No better gifts at all!
babysophie4mom
The sweetest gift my hubby gave me was prior to our marriage. A paper cigar band as a ring until he purchased a 3ct diamond. That paper ring I still have, 15 years now. and I love it
